This class removes the mystery of longarm quilting by explaining machine and frame elements, features, how to load a quilt, and vital facts about thread, needles, and tension. You will learn Handi Quilter longarm machine and frame systems come in various sizes for every budget and are so incredibly user friendly, in a low pressure way! You’ll find the machines are user-friendly because they are designed by a quilter, for quilters – just like you!
What to Expect:
You will have plenty of Hands-On time to play and create with the machines. You will learn the ins & outs of free motion quilting fun with a talented and friendly educator and our great Gary’s team!

| Instructor Bio: | While watching her mother and grandmother sew, Karen King was inspired at a young age to craft and create garments for herself. After years of machine sewing, she began to enjoy other forms of creativity including hand and machine embroidery, smocking, heirloom sewing, and quilting. Karen was fascinated with longarm quilting and rented a machine in 2008 at a local quilt shop. In 2010 she purchased her own longarm machine and began a professional career as a longarm quilter. She loves the craft so much that she began to teach others to begin their career. Teaching in person is her favorite, but she also teaches on Zoom and FaceTime. She quilts daily on her HQ Infinity® with Pro-Stitcher® Premium and has won three 1st place ribbons with her custom work. Her husband, Bryan, is her bookkeeper, technical support, and biggest supporter. She can ‘soar’ because of his encouragement. They live in Bothell, Washington, have four children, and eight grandchildren. |
